The Mission of AVID
The mission of AVID is to ensure that all students, and most especially the least served students in the middle, are capable of completing a college preparatory path. That students will:
- succeed in rigorous curriculum,
- enter mainstream activities of the school,
- increase their enrollment in four-year colleges, and
- become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.
AVID Student Profile
Students with academic potential:
- average to high test scores
- 2.0 - 3.5 GPA
- college potential with support
- desire and determination

Binder Evaluation Speakers Motivitational Activities |
AVID Curriculum includes writing, strategies for success, and college and career studies. Students taking the AVID elective learn organization skills through their maintenance of an AVID binder and listening skills through Cornell notetaking.
AVID Tutorials include collaborative study groups, writing groups, and socratic seminars.
